 Formally known as
"Dimensions Danze Company," the organization was established in 1998. With
a strong determination and vision, founder Debra Montalvo Swaim set out to create a
company that embraced the unique talents and beauty that all women posses. From
that, "5 Degreez of Danze" realized it's mission would be to "Empower
women's mind and body through the spirit of Dance."
The five-member group consists of dancers with various cultural backgrounds as well as diverse dance experience. It's rich blend of classical ballet, jazz, modern, and hip hop makes it's genre of dance unique. 5 Degreez of Danze is working hard to become a vital force in the Dallas Dance community. It provides dance classes to at-risk children, donates it's talents to charitable organizations like "The Boys and Girls Club of Frisco", and participates in various local events like "The Plano Balloon Festival". Since December of 1998, the company has been invited to perform at the Target Store's annual holiday event called "Snowden". It is a special event where the Target stores are closed to the general public and let the elderly and handicap customers do their holiday shopping. The company has also hosted a benefit for the "Girls Incorporated of Metropolitan Dallas" and choreographed for their 1998 "She Knows Where She's Going" annual luncheon. Recently, 5 Degreez was invited to perform at the Frisco Police Department's first annual "Santa Cops". The event provided a holiday dinner and gifts to the local families in need. In collaboration with other dance organizations, the company has been guest artists in concerts like Nova Dancing Company's 1998 and 1999 concerts, participated annually in the Dallas Dance Council's "Dance For the Planet," and has also been featured performers in various local studio recitals. The company is based out of the dance studio, "Frisco Dance Force" in Frisco, Texas. It currently offers a professional dance class every Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. 5 Degreez of Danze continues to perform, teach, and donate it's talents as they strive to enrich the community through the art form known as DANCE.
