Debra Montalvo Swaim
(Owner/Director)

Debra Montalvo Swaim is a native of Port Arthur, TX.  She attended Lamar University on scholarship and graduated with a B.S. in Dance.  Upon graduation she was awarded "Most Outstanding Dance Major" from the National Dance Association (1993).  After college, Swaim relocated to Houston and started performing with companies such as Joan Karff New Dance Group and Shawn Wellings DF7 Dance Troupe.  She has also performed in various industrials like "Neville Brothers Concert", and the foreign film "Prithvi" (India).  While performing she also instructed classes at various Houston dance programs such as Jewish Community Center and choreographed for Houston's "Choreographers X6", "The Dance Initiative", and "The Black Dance Festival".  In 1998 Debra moved to the Dallas area where she founded the dance company "5 Degreez of Danze".  5 Degreez works have debuted in events like "Dance For the Planet", "Plano Balloon Festival", "Barefoot Brigade Festival", and "Frisco's Premiere Arts Gala".  Along with her professional dance company, she also owns and operates "Frisco Dance Force".  Swaim continues to teach and choreograph and is a member of "The Dallas Dance Council", a founding board member of the "Barefoot Brigade Coalition", and "Frisco's Association For the Arts".

 

Jenna Fisher (Pre Ballet/Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary)

Jenna is a native of Dallas, and her love of dance began at the age of two.  She has training in ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern, and pointe and has trained at the Broadway Dance Center in New York.  Fisher attended high school at Booker T. Washington for the Performing & Visual Arts, where she graduated with honors.  While a student there Jenna was a member of the Advanced Repertory Dance Ensemble and was a featured dancer in various lead roles choreographed by well known artists such as Robert Battle, Adam Hougland, Jessica Lang, and John Mead.  Ms. Jenna recently graduated from the University of North Texas Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Arts in Dance.  While at UNT she worked with members of Ailey II, The Jose Limon Dance Company, and The Dallas Black Dance Theater.  Ms. Jenna continues to attend conventions and classes and has taken classes from Mia Michaels, Tyce Diorio, Chris Judd, Dave Scott, Laurie Ann Gibson, Shane Sparks, Brenna Monroe-Cook, Judith Jamison, Ron Brown, and Desmond Richardson.  Ms. Jenna has been with FDF for several years and is now the Jr., Sr., & Elite Dance Team Director.

 

Tavia Kidwell (Hip Hop, Ballet, Pre-Ballet/Tap, Jazz, Team Director)

Tavia has trained extensively in hip hop, jazz, lyrical, modern as well as contemporary, swing, and Latin dance. As a choreographer, she has been selected to set routines and judge for high school teams such as Capistrano High School , and Dacula High School in Georgia . Most recently a Team Director for Frisco Dance Force Mini and Beginner competition teams and have choreographed award winning routines. As a professional cheerleader Tavia was a Georgia Force Cheerleader for the Arena Football League, and choreographed for their half-time and sideline routines. Tavia has also been featured in the national 7up commercial campaign as a cheerleader in Los Angeles, California. Tavia was a member of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders for 2 years and has performed with Destiny’s Child, Big-N-Rich, Sheryl Crow, Journey, and Wayne Newton. She has also traveled and performed for Charities and have shown support for our Troops. While a Cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys Tavia was a Cheerleader extra in the Disney Movie Invincible. Tavia was featured on ESPN for making the Calendar and was on CMT season 1 for “Making The Team”. She was picked to pose for Maxim Magazine as one of the NFL cheerleaders and was month June for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Calendar. She also spent time working with the Frisco Thunder IFL cheerleaders. When she was younger she traveled and performed with a Hip Hop troop that took them through out the United States. Tavia was also a Hip Hop style Dance Club Promoter. She has been teaching 6 years with Frisco Dance Force and enjoys teaching and watching the girls grow as young, strong dancers. This will be her 2nd year as a Mini and beginner Team Director.

 

 

Jennifer Racine (Ballet & Pointe)

Jennifer is a native of Texas who graduated from Booker T. Washington High School for the performing and Visual Arts in 1996. After graduation, she began her professional career in ballet. Ms. Racine started with the school of The Hartford Ballet in Hartford, CT as a professional student. After studying there for one season, she was offered an apprentice position with the Southern Ballet Theatre in Orlando, FL. She performed many roles with this company, but after one season was offered a contract with the Greensboro Ballet in Greensboro, NC. Jennifer danced there for 2 years under the direction of Mary Helen Mayfield and performed many roles such as Spanish and Snow Crystal from the nutcracker, and the Lilac Fairy from Sleeping Beauty. After two years with the Greensboro Ballet, she was then offered a contract to dance with the Alabama Ballet in Birmingham, AL under the direction of Wes Chapman. Due to a knee injury, Ms. Racine was only able to dance with the company for the beginning part of the season. In March of 2001, she stopped dancing professionally and enrolled in college, and is teaching ballet at Frisco Dance Force. Jennifer has been with Frisco Dance Force for 4 years.

 

Kandie Biggers (Zumba)

Kandie is a progressive instructor with a graceful and vibrant personality that captivates and allures her audience.  Her dance background is in several dance forms including training in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, latin, afro-cuban and is complimented by her Zumba Certification.   A natural teacher, her passion for dance and music led her on the road to teach salsa in Los Angeles, CA as a hobby.  On her journey, Kandie discovered Zumba in Miami, FL!  Zumba opened a door for her to integrate fitness as well as dance to her instruction experience.  Zumba is more of an international flavor attracting a larger scale of people that want to "ditch the workout and join the party!"  She incorporates salsa, meringue, cha-cha, cumbia, belly dance, bhangra, samba, flamenco, african dance flavors (to name a few) into one class.  Yes, it is power packed with cardio and a good time.  She continues to improve her skills by participating in workshops and seminars with other experienced professionals and world-renowned instructors/performers.

Jessica Jackson

Jessica Jackson received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Performance and Choreography from the University of Southern Mississippi. She has performed professionally for Walt Disney World and Holland America Cruise Line. Jessica has also instructed for Power Academic and Performing Arts Complex, The International Ballet Competition (Jackson Mississippi), and was formerly the Academy Director for the Dallas Black Dance Theatre. Ms. Jackson, along with her vibrant energy and positive outlook, brings over 14 years of dance experience, training and disciplined instruction to students ranging from two years to adults.

 

Tony Battle

Tony Battle is a professional Hip Hop dancer, choreographer, musician, singer, and songwriter. While his experience is extensive, he has worked with various up and coming artists such as Cherisse Symonds, local artist Demmi, Dead Fish Project, and Kayo. He also develops and produces talent under his production company called "BattleGround Productions." Tony is a former graduate of the Classen School of the Arts in the state of Oklahoma and was a theatre major at the University of Oklahoma. Mr. Battle brings to PDF his passion for mixing movement and music together to enhance the joy of learning the art of dance known as  Hip Hop.

 

 

Tina Jefferson

Tina Jefferson began her dance training at the age of 3 in tap, jazz and ballet and began competing at the age of 7. She has had the privilege to perform at several events such as the Dallas Mavericks Game, the Dallas Cup, and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. She graduated from South Garland High School in 2006 and most recently received her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of North Texas in Denton. Tina has had the opportunity to perform at the American College Dance Festival in 2007 and was most recently cast in the re-staging of Blessed by renowned choreography Bebe Miller in the 2010 Faculty Dance Concert at the University of North Texas. She has been teaching for five years at several studios in the DFW area and hopes to continue to teach in the future.

 

Sarah Sobolewski (Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Ballet, Tap & Pom)

Sarah is a jazz dance instructor, received 18 years of dance training in Irvine, CA, Scottsdale, AZ, and Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame. She has intensively studied and competed in a variety of dance styles including jazz, modern, lyrical, ballet, tap, and pom. Additionally, Sarah has taught at dance studios in Scottsdale, Arizona and choreographed for a state-championship Varsity Pom Team. At Saint Mary's College, Sarah pursued degrees in elementary education (with a concentration in Special Education) and dance that both complement her love of children, lifelong learning, and instruction. She spent her college years not only studying dance but participating in ensemble workshops while choreographing for and performing with the University of Notre Dame’s Advanced Dance Company. As a newlywed, Sarah recently relocated to Frisco, is a local first grade teacher, and enjoys spending time with her husband, Tim, and puppy, Riley!
